Travel Time Service Notice
Prior to Setting Gain on Electronic Brake Controls
Date : October 01, 2001
Notice Description: Warm brakes are much more efficient than cold brakes. For this reason it is always a good idea to warm the brakes just slightly. Before heading out on the highway or setting the gain at initial setup, simply engage the manual slide halfway, and drive the trailer and tow vehicle, for approximately 250 yards (1/4 mi.). This will allow the brakes to warm to operating temperature. Some customers experience brakes that they describe as grabby or sluggish first thing in the morning when heading out on the road. This cool down situation could be to blame. Some brake shoe materials are affected in different ways by cool temperatures. Some shoes may react by grabbing and feeling aggressive while others may react by being less aggressive or sluggish in response. These customers may then readjust their gain control and later find their brakes not responding as they did last time they towed.
Remedy : Before heading out on the highway or setting the gain at initial setup, simply engage the manual slide halfway, and drive the trailer and tow vehicle, for approximately 250 yards (1/4 mi.). This will allow the brakes to warm to operating temperature.

Water Heater Weeping
Temperature-Pressure Relief Valve Weeping
Date : All Dates
Manufacturer: All Makes
Model : All Models
Component : Relief Valve
Notice Description: Weeping or dripping from the pressure relief valve while the water heater is running DOES NOT mean it is defective. This is caused by the normal expansion of water as it is heated in the closed water system of a recreational vehicle. The water heater inner tank is designed internally with an air gap at the top of the tank to reduce the posibility of this occurring. In time, the expanding water will absorb this air.
Remedy : To replace this air:
  1. Turn off water heater
  2. Turn off incoming water supply
  3. Open a faucet in the coach
  4. Pull handle of the relief valve straight out and allow water to flow until it stops
  5. Allow relief valve to snap shut; close faucet; turn on water supply
